Dubied Industrial Machine
Dubied Industrial Hand Knitting Machine (Kindly donated by the family of Monsieur Charles Hily)
The Dubied was advertised in Leboncoin, and I contacted the daughter of Monsieur Hily, who recently passed away, Madame Michelle Abgrall.
Michelle, her brother and sister wanted the machine to go to someone who would enjoy renovating and using it.
A fine example of an early industrial hand operated machine – its knits fine yarns with ease and has a selection stitches and a very early row counter. It is operated by turning the handle or alternatively moving the wooden hand back and forth.
Hopefully I will be able to use it even more once I access a source for the needle springs which hold the needles in place to cast on.
Another great addition to the collection.
